Antique Sterling Silver Dressing Table Brush Set – Faux Tortoiseshell Backs – Mappin & Webb - England, approximately early 20th century. A two-piece dressing table set comprising an oval handled hairbrush and a rectangular clothes brush. The sterling silver mounts are inset with panels displaying a faux tortoiseshell color and pattern. Both brushes retain natural bristles. Marked for the renowned British maker Mappin & Webb, together with British silver hallmarks. Dimensions: Handled brush: 23 × 7 cm. Handleless brush: 16 × 4 cm. Used condition consistent with age, including patina and tarnishing to the silver, scratches, wear and areas of discoloration to the backs. Please examine the photographs for condition.
