לא מזוהה - Memory of a Place: Alleys and Light. A pair of oil paintings (or mixed media in a monochromatic tone), framed in an elegant matching frame, are offered for sale as one harmonious set. From the collection of painter Itamar Tal. The first work presents a view of an architectural alley with a central arch and a bridge connecting buildings. The composition creates a perspective depth that invites the viewer to “enter” the space, while playing with light and shadow that emphasizes the sense of time and memory. The second work focuses on a stone staircase climbing up the side of an old building, with openings and walls with rich textures. This painting is signed with what appears to be “A. Agam, ” adding a layer of authenticity and collectability to the entire set. Both works are executed in a limited palette of brown-black tones (sepia), which gives them a nostalgic, almost photographic quality, yet maintains a painterly liveliness through free, mottled brushstrokes.
