Bogen - Palmach. 27x16 Expressive drawing in ink/dark color on paper, Israeli pioneer from Palmach framed in a wooden frame, by the artist Bogen (signed in Hebrew at the bottom of the work). The work presents a dynamic composition of a writhing human figure, built using free, fast and at times almost wild lines. The work is characterized by a vivid and unplanned painterly line, combining intuitive drawing with a sense of constant movement. The figure is not defined realistically, but rather breaks down and reorganizes through intricate and rhythmic lines, creating a sense of dance, struggle or transformation. There is a tension between control and liberation - between the directed hand and the spontaneous gesture. The neutral and unprocessed background emphasizes the energy of the line and its presence, allowing the figure to ”float” in an open space. The light marks of time on the paper add an authentic layer and a sense of materiality. The signature “Bogen” at the bottom reinforces the identification of the work and links it to the tradition of expressive drawing, in which the line is the subject of the work itself.
