Over decades of creative work, he developed a unique visual language that is immediately recognizable to him – a complex system of lines, erasures, layers of color, geometric signs and abstract structures, ranging from order to chaos and from concealment to exposure. His work has received international recognition and has been exhibited in major museums and exhibitions in Israel and around the world. This work from 1980 clearly demonstrates Kupferman's mature language. The surface is constructed of gray and white layers that create tension between opaque areas and brighter, more transparent areas. The networks of lines and geometric signs hint at a hidden internal structure, while the repeated brushstrokes create an almost musical rhythm.
