Dan Reisner - Tears of silence. 24x22 Dan Reisner creates a highly personal and identifiable body of work, in which his own face serves as the starting point for many of his works. This ceramic sculpture features a human mask with a subdued expression and closed eyes, from which dark tears flow. On either side of the head grow organic shapes reminiscent of horns, roots, or twisted branches, creating a tension between the human and the natural, between the body and the inner world. The closed eyes give the figure an almost meditative quality, while the black tears suggest pain, memory, or a process of healing and introspection. The subdued color of the ceramic, together with the marks of the material and patina, reinforces the sense of time and humanity inherent in the work.
