Avigdor Arikha - This book is the exhibition catalog for a major retrospective of the internationally renowned Israeli artist Avigdor Arikha, published by The Israel Museum, Jerusalem, in 1998. Titled Avigdor Arikha: Selected Paintings 1953–1997, it accompanied a significant exhibition held at the Israel Museum that later traveled to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh. The bilingual publication features texts in both Hebrew and English, incorporating analytical art essays by Jean-Pierre Cuzin and Marc Jordan, an extensive interview with the artist conducted by Yona Fischer, and color plates documenting Arikha's artistic journey from his 1950s abstract period back to direct figurative painting from life. The front cover art highlights his signature approach to capturing intimate, everyday moments through close observation.
