Vintage Burberrys Square Silk Scarf in Nova Check and Geometric Pattern - Vintage Burberrys square silk scarf featuring a central Nova Check diamond flanked by black and charcoal grey triangular panels. The design is separated by ornate gold-tone foliate scroll borders incorporating B monograms and Equestrian Knight logos. Finished with hand-rolled hems, the textile includes a printed Burberrys mark and a Japanese care label indicating 100 percent silk content. Approximately 35 x 35 inches (90 x 90 cm). Burberry was founded in Basingstoke, England in 1856. The house is known for inventing gabardine fabric in 1880 and for the distinctive tartan lining introduced in the 1920s. Older pieces bear the 'Burberrys of London' label, which was used prior to the rebranding to simply 'Burberry' in the 1990s.
