Hermes Qalamdan Silk Carre 90 with Box - A vintage Hermes silk twill square scarf featuring the Qalamdan pattern, first issued in 1990 and designed by Catherine Baschet. The design is inspired by Persian pen boxes, or qalamdans, and features elongated cartouches containing intricate floral motifs, birds, and equestrian scenes in the style of Persian miniatures. The colorway consists of a black border and ground with a central diamond medallion, accented with shades of blue, green, gold, and vibrant red. The scarf is finished with hand-rolled and hand-stitched hems. The title QALAMDAN is printed at the bottom center of the inner decorative border. The brand mark HERMES - PARIS is located in a cartouche at the lower right of the patterned area. A small (c) HERMES copyright mark is visible within one of the circular equestrian scenes in the lower left. This item is accompanied by an original orange Hermes box with the horse and carriage logo and the address 24, FAUBOURG SAINT-HONORE, PARIS printed on the lid.
