Hermes Petite Main Silk Scarf - A vintage Hermes silk twill scarf titled Petite main, first issued in 1987 and designed by Catherine Abrial. The design features a vibrant turquoise border and central field, showcasing an intricate composition of haute couture and dressmaking tools. The central motif includes various bobbins, pins, needles, and thimbles arranged on a turquoise ground, framed by white geometric sections and diagonal braided bands. Throughout the white framing are circular medallions containing portraits and an assortment of decorative buttons. Each corner is embellished with a detailed golden chatelaine suspending sewing implements like scissors and needle cases. The scarf is finished with hand-rolled hems. Marks include the printed title Petite main in a central lower cartouche, and HERMES PARIS on a printed white ribbon in one corner. A fabric care label is sewn to the edge, printed with FABRIQUE EN FRANCE / 100% SOIE and MADE IN FRANCE / 100% SILK / DRY CLEAN ONLY. Approximately 35 x 35 inches (90 x 90 cm).
