Antique Russian Guilloche Enamel Gold Pendant Diamonds Hallmark 56, 1916 - An exceptional Imperial Russian guilloché enamel pendant, crafted in 56 zolotnik gold and set with natural old European-cut diamonds. The front is decorated with luminous translucent guilloché enamel and features the Roman numeral XXXV (35) in diamond-set decoration, commemorating an important 35-year milestone. The reverse bears a presentation inscription in Russian: “To E. A. Lesing, in grateful memory from his colleagues, 1881–1916.” The pendant bears the Imperial Russian 56 zolotnik gold hallmark together with the maker’s mark “T W.” The pendant carries notable historical and cultural interest, According to the provenance accompanying the piece, it was presented to E. A. Lesing, an academician involved in the compilation of a Russian-language dictionary. The guilloché enamel remains in outstanding, virtually immaculate condition, retaining the luminous depth and refined finish characteristic of the finest Imperial Russian enamel work.
