Letter of Gratitude from Rabbi Aharon Kotler Following the Great Fire in Kletzk; 1937

Letter of thanks from Rabbi Aharon Kotler to yeshiva donors, particularly regarding their assistance following the great fire in Kletzk, which took a serious toll on the Kletzk Yeshiva.

In Tammuz, 1936, a great fire broke out in Kletzk consuming more than 300 homes and leaving some 500 families without shelter. During this time the students of the Kletzk Yeshiva saved lives and assisted store owners by salvaging their merchandise. The heroic acts of the yeshiva students were noted in the press.

In this letter of appreciation Rabbi Aharon Kotler blesses the yeshiva’s supporters with success, health, livelihood and all good things.

The letter was handwritten by the Yeshiva secretary in Yiddish and is signed by Rabbi Aharon Kotler.

Dated erev Sukkos, Kletzk, 1937.
