Handwritten Torah Novellae by Rabbi Chaim Yosef Pollack, Av Beis Din of Trebitsch, Disciple of the Chasam Sofer
Harav Chaim Yosef Pollack (1799-1880), Av Beis Din of Trebitsch, was a disciple of the Chasam Sofer and of the ‘Maseh Rokeach’. His Rabbi the Chasam Sofer was instrumental in arranging his shidduch, and awarded him semichah on his wedding day and continued with correspondence to him in Halacha. In 1849 he published his commentary Mekor Chaim on the sefer Akeidas Yitzchak.
