Letter from the  First Boyaner Rebbe to His Chassidim in Tzfas * Letter bearing the holy signature of the Rebbe the Pachad Yitzchak of Boyan, addressed to the heads of his community in the city of Tzfas. Already in the days of his illustrious grandfather, the holy Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, Ruzhiner Chassidim had established a presence in the holy city of Tzfas. The Boyaner kloiz (shul and beis medrash) in Tzfas, which served as the spiritual center for the Boyaner Chassidim, was founded during the leadership of his father, the Rebbe of Sadigura. The kloiz was frequented by the most prominent and distinguished of the Boyan chassidim, who were deeply connected to the Pachad Yitzchak, and maintained strong ties with him and his household. In this letter, the Pachad Yitzchak concludes with heartfelt blessings for salvation and a Kesiva V’Chasima Tova for the New Year, signing: “And I pray on their behalf and on behalf of all Yisrael – Yitzchak son of Rabbi Avraham Yaakov, zt”l.” Rabbi Yitzchak of Boyan (1849–1917) was the son of Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura and grandson of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. He was well-known for his tremendous yiras shomayim and deep devotion which was said to have instilled fear and reverence in all those around him, hence his title ”Pachad Yitzchak”. After the passing of his father, he remained in Sadigura together with his brothers until 1887, when he established his court in Boyan and founded a magnificent chassidic dynasty. With the outbreak of World War I, he relocated to Vienna, where he was one of the elders of the Ruzhin dynasty's Rebbes. He passed away in 1917 and was laid to rest there. Letters from the Pachad Yitzchak of Boyan are exceedingly rare. The letter is dated Elul, 1911. Page Size: 29×21 cm. Condition: Excellent, preserved in a fine leather binding with a protective case.
