Zivchei Cohen Illustrated Fold-Out Plates Singular Edition, Livorno, 1832 * A concise guide to the laws of shechitah and bedikah, as well as the laws of nikur (removing certain forbidden parts of an animal after shechitah) according to the Italian custom, in both Hebrew and Italian, by Rabbi Yitzchak HaKohen, one of the foremost shochtim of Livorno. To aid comprehension, the author included anatomical illustrations of the animal's organs, signs of kashrus in fowl, and more. These illustrations, produced via woodcut engraving, were printed on eight fold-out plates (some copies contain only seven). Rabbi Yitzchak HaKohen was raised in the home of Rabbi Shlomo Malach, Av Beis Din of Livorno, and served as a shochet in the large city of Livorno for over thirty years. Drawing on his extensive experience and mastery of the field, he summarized and clarified these halachos in the present sefer.
