Letter of Blessings from the Kedushas Tzion of Bobov, Hy”d: ”I hereby bless you with great success, may Hashem bless you in all your endeavors.” * A letter of blessings from the holy Admor Rabbi Ben Zion Halberstam of Bobov, one of the greatest Rebbes of pre-war Europe. He was murdered in the Holocaust, H”yd. Written while he was in Bobov, just a few days before the holy festival of Rosh Hashanah in the year 1929. These are his words: ”I hereby bless you with great success, may Hashem command upon you blessing in all your undertakings. From your dear friend who seeks your wellbeing with love, I bless you with a kesivah v’chasimah tova.” He signed his name in his own handwriting: ”The humble, Ben Zion Halberstam.” Rabbi Bentzion Halberstam (1871-1941) was the son of Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam, grandson of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz. He was a leading Galician Rebbe prior to World War II. In 1899, at the advice of the Shinover Rebbe, he married the daughter of Rabbi Shalom Eliezer of Ratzfert, son of the Divrei Chaim, and lived with his father-in-law for half a year. In 1905 he became Rebbe, and he reestablished his father’s yeshiva, raising a new generation of chassidim, for whom he cared both spiritually and materially. In 1932, he moved to the city of Chebin. His prayers were filled with deep emotion, and his melodies became renowned and celebrated. He was murdered in the Holocaust with great cruelty. His son and successor was the Admor Rabbi Shlomo (the second) of Bobov, zt”l. Bobov, 3rd day of Nitzavim [18 Elul] 1929. Size: 14.6x21.8 cm. Condition: Good.
