Rabbeinu Yonah of Gerona, author of Sha'arei Teshuva , was a prominent Rishon and renowned for his extreme piety and holiness, which earned him the titles “the Chassid Rabbeinu Yonah” and “Rabbeinu Yonah HaKadosh.” He was the rabbi and teacher of the great Rishonim: the Rashba and Rabbi Aharon HaLevi.
