LETTER FROM DOVID WEITZEL, RAV OF BARANOVITCH, TO REB CHAIM OZER MENTIONS RAV MICHEL RABINOWITZ AUTHOR OF AFIKEI YAM, 1925 - R. Dovid Weitzel (1875-1958), was a son-in-law of R. Chaim Yehuda Leib Lubchansky whom he succeeded as Rav in Baranovitch following his brother-in-law the renowned R. Yisroel Yaakov Lubchansky (who resigned the position of Rav and served as Mashgiach in the Yeshiva). During the Holocaust he was exiled to Siberia where he miraculously survived. Following the War he served as Rav in Prague and later settled in Tel Aviv.
