Large Attic red-figure bell-krater, recalling the Kleophon Painter. - Large Attic red-figure bell-krater, recalling the Kleophon Painter. 430 - 410 BC. Height 34,4cm, ø mouth 37,1cm. On the frontside four men in pairs in discussion. Three of them characterized as adult citizens by having full beards and wearing himatia. In contrast to them the fourth - a youth - is beardless and nude except for a cloth around his arms. All four men hold a stick and wear a laurel wreath. On the backside youths talk with a satyr in their middle, the last one wears a himation like an Attic citizen. The satyr and the right youth hold a thyrsos. With invoice from 1984 and French antiquities passport (copies)! Reassembled from fragments, few tiny chippings at the cracks retouched.
