Attic red-figure bell-krater of the Painter of Vienna 1089. - Attic red-figure bell-krater of the Painter of Vienna 1089. 400 - 380 BC. Height 33,1cm, ø mouth 33,4cm. In beautiful drawing style at the front depicting probably Herakles and his eleventh labour. The youthful hero leans on his club and sits on the lion skin. Left and right two Hesperides wear richly decorated peploi and each holds a scepter. Far left Hermes, the herald of the gods, with kerykeion. On the backside three draped youths, the left one with stick, the one in the middle with strigils. Because of misfiring the lower part has a very attractive red colour. With invoice from 1984 and French antiquities passport (copies)! Reassembled from fragments, small missing parts retouched.
