Handleless amphora with cylindrical corpus type II var. II for water. On the frontside a naiskos, in that a young Lady with dove surrounded by attributes of youthfulness like a ball and beauty like an alabastron. On the back a grave stele. The naiskos as well as the stele framed by four fellows - youths and young women - who are holding further attributes of beautiful life. On the shoulder of the amphora the head of Aphrodite rises from a calyx among fanciful flowers, on the other side the winged bust of a woman. Extremly elaborate usage of white, yellow and red colours for the details. Remarkable is the rare ornament in form of coloured diamonds on the neck. The not dark painted areas are covered with a slighlty brown slip and on the foot with a reddish slip. Gorgeous vase! With copy of the catalogue of the Grisebach-auction! Tiny chippings at the colours, otherwise intact. Formerly in the property of Mrs. and Mr. Becchina. After judicial decision the vase is without limitation tradable in the area of the European Union.
