Beautiful Campanian black glazed hydria. - Beautiful Campanian black glazed hydria. 340 - 320 BC. Height 30,1cm, ø corpus 15,9cm. Symposion vessel for keeping water with ribbed corpus. On the lip a black-figured band of wave and on the neck a laurel wreath painted with terracotta slip which was perhaps originally gilded. With copy of the Hirsch catalogue! Tiny chips at the mouth, otherwise intact, below mouth and foot remains of sinter and below the foot the rest of an old label. First acquired in 1959.
