Early Etruscan amphora with knops. - Early Etruscan amphora with knops. 750 - 650 BC. Height 13,7cm, ø corpus 21,2cm. Dark brown impasto. Lentoid vessel with ribs and two pointed, triple-framed knobs, a short S-shaped curved neck and double ribbon handles. Cord decoration on the handles, neck and around the nubs. Splendid specimen! With old collectors note! Reassembled from fragments, small missing parts at the cracks retouched, small chipping at one handle. Acquired for a German collection 1988 as gift from the Department of Molecular Biology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
