Fragment of a Roman grave stele. - Fragment of a Roman grave stele. Eastern Mediterranean, Middle Imperial Period, 2nd - 3rd century AD. Hight 28,4cm, width 21,1cm. Fine white marble. In the middle the deceased man wearing a himation and with his right arm in a loop on high the breast, at the left side a twisted column. Above on the architrave the deepened inscription: ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΟ[...] / ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΟΥ / ΒΟΥΚΟΛΕΩΝ. Broken above and below and on the right side, overworked at the left side and on the back, the face of the man probable overworked in ancient times.
