Attachment for a Roman coach in form of Herakles. - Attachment for a Roman coach in form of Herakles. Middle Imperial Period, 3rd century AD. Height 21,1cm and with stand 25,4cm. One-sided hollow cast. Youthful image of the popular mythologiycal hero with lion´s skin in his left hand wearing a wreath and standing on an anvil shaped base, rearward behind the head and at the base two semi-circular lugs. Black and green patina, wreath and right arm broken, mounted on wooden base.
