Front part of a Parthian knife handle. - Front part of a Parthian knife handle made of bone in form of a soldier. 2nd century BC - 2nd century AD. Height 13,9cm. The soldier is wearing helmet and cuirass and holding a shield and a palm branch as symbol for his victoriousness. Characteristic for his Parthian origin are pantaloons and boots. With expertise from 1985! A tiny fragment at the helmet is missing, otherwise intact.
