Shabti of princess (?) Ahmose. - Shabti of princess (?) Ahmose. Limestone with some rests of colour, H 21,3cm. Second Intermediate Period, 17th dynasty, ca. 1560 - 1540 BC. Mummy-shaped with dominant, tripartite wig, the ends of which are spiralled. The left hand looks out of the mummy bandages and clenches into a fist. The hieroglyphic inscription in five horizontal registers shows the sixth saying of the Book of the Dead: 'Ahmose, (the righteous, she says:) O Shabti of Ahmose, the righteous, when called upon (Ahmose to perform work done there in the underworld as) a woman in her service obligation to (make the fields grow), to water the banks, to bring (the sands of the east to the west). 'I am doing it. Here I am' (you shall say). With certificate from Rupert Wace! Legs missing, chipping to the body. Face well preserved.
