An alabaster figurine of a crouching hamadryas baboon. - An alabaster figurine of a crouching hamadryas baboon with a crescent moon and lunar disk on its head. On its chest is the cartouche of Queen Tiye, Tiye, beloved of Isis. This Tiye is the wife of Sethnakht, the founder of the 20th Dynasty, and not to be confused with the wife of Amenhotep III. All monuments bearing her name come from Abydos, where her son Ramses III built a temple for his parents. Worn surface and some missing edges espeacially at the crown. Ex collection Prof. Schlögl. Formely in the collection A.Ghertsos, Switzerland and published several times since 1970.
