Stamp seal from the reign of Ramses II. - Stamp seal from the reign of Ramses II. L 4cm, W 1.8cm, D 0.5cm. Made from lapis lazuli. Seal in plaque form, hieroglyphs on the front, eyelet carved into the material for suspension. Inscription: Cartouche with the throne name of Ramses II, crowned by the sun disc and two ostrich feathers. The seal was probably used by a high dignitary of Ramses II. The outstanding quality indicates a royal workshop. New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty, 1279 - 1213 BC. Broken in the upper part and reassembled. Published!
