A large white scarab made of steatite. - A large white scarab made of steatite with hieroglyphic inscription framing the depiction of a phoinix wearing the hemhem crown. The inscription is not canonical and names the ship carpenter Iretj, who probably is identical with a person known from shabtis of the reign of Thutmosis III. (1479 - 1424 BC). New Kingdom, 18th dynasty, 1550 - 1292 BC. Ex xollection Prof. H.A.Schlögl, acquired at Archea Amsterdam in 2005. Previously collection Dr. Appelboom, acquired 1972 from a private collection in the Netherlands.
