Faience bead of the reign of Tawosret. - Faience bead of the reign of Tawosret: L 2.2cm, W 1.8cm, D 0.5cm. Made of blue faience with longitudinal drilling. Rectangular foundation deposit plaque. Both faces are impressed with a hieroglyphic inscription for 'Mert-Amen-Re, the female one beloved of Amun Ra' set within a border. This foundation deposit was for the mortuary temple of Tawosret, a female pharaoh at the end of the Nineteenth Dynasty which is why, although the format is royal, the name is feminine.
