Statuette of a striding man. - Statuette of a striding man: H 45.1cm, W 11.5cm, D 13cm. Wood with remnants of blue and red painting. The left, angled arm was worked separately from two parts and dowelled. The man probably originally held a staff in his hand. He wears a short blue curly wig on his head. The eyes are inlaid bone and ebony. Old Kingdom, end of 4th Dynasty, about 2348 - 2198 BC. Feet missing, cracks in the wood, right arm reattached, otherwise in very good condition. Published!
