Cosmetic spoon in the form of a recumbent ibex. - Cosmetic spoon in the form of a recumbent ibex, made of darkgrey and green schist, L 4.5cm, W 3cm. The bowl of the spoon survives and is carved in the form of a recumbent Nubian ibex. The animal lies on its side with its legs trussed beneath. A swimming female figure would have held the container in her outstretched arms, which can still be seen on the underside of the piece. New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, 1540 - 1292 BC. Fragmentary.
