Small Attic black-figure neck amphora of the Phanyllis Class. - Small Attic black-figure neck amphora of the Phanyllis Class. 500 - 480 BC. H 24.8cm, ø 15.1cm. On one side, Dionysus is reclining, holding a kantharos in perspective view. In front of the kline, a side table with pieces of meat is placed. On the other side, an ithyphallic satyr is grabbing a maenad attempting to flee to the right. The ornament on the neck, consisting of a palmette between two hanging lotus buds, is characteristic of amphoras of this class. Details in white. Composed of fragments, with only a few retouched missing parts, splinters at the mouth and on the side under one handle.
