Marble head of a Heracles as symposiast. - Marble head of a Heracles as symposiast. White, fine-crystalline marble, height 16.5 cm. Bust for a small herm with flat back. Heracles is depicted in advanced age with an exaggeratedly muscular face and woolly hair and beard. A lavish vine wreath rests on his head, from which bands fall down his shoulders. Roman Imperial Period, 1st - 3rd century AD. Some parts of the lower edges are missing.
