Solid gold royal signet ring. - Solid gold king's ring, 14.95g, ringsize 9.1 (US), S (UK), 20 (F). An outwardly convex hoop with an oval plate. On it is the cartouche of the priest-king Pamai (21st Dynasty) bearing the hieroglyphs for: 'The Shining Horus'. Depicted are the Crown of Upper Egypt, which denotes the royal titles and signifies 'white', 'shining' and 'Horus'. The symbol for a pendant (Mi), the Horus falcon and the god's standard, as well as a flying duck (Pa). Served as a signet ring. 22nd Dynasty, 772 - 767 BC. Traces of use, intact.
