An Ottoman Metal-Thread Embroidered Curtain with Tughra, 19th Century. An Ottoman ceremonial curtain intricately embroidered with metal thread on a deep reddish-brown textile ground. At its centre is the imperial tughra of an Ottoman sultan, framed by a radiating sunburst motif and enclosed within a bold oval medallion. The composition is bordered with stylised foliage and corner rosettes. The lower inscription reads: Sultan of the Ottoman State.
