A Persian Blue & White Ewer Aftaba with Domed Cover, 19th Century. A Persian blue & white pottery ewer of bulbous form with a low ring foot, tall tapering neck, sinuous S-shaped spout and high strap handle, fitted with a conforming domed cover. The frit ware body is painted under a clear glaze in multiple tones of cobalt with dense arabesque scrolls and stylised foliate and avian motifs that sweep around the shoulder and body.
