A Roman Republican Bronze Libation Bowl with Military Officer Medallion, 1st Century BC – 1st Century AD. A shallow Roman Republican period bronze libation bowl featuring a flared rim and a hammered exterior decorated with repeated raised oval impressions. The interior is centred by a roundel depicting the bust of a Roman military officer, shown wearing a crested helmet with detailed plume and protective cheek-guards. Surrounding the portrait is a lightly engraved border of repeating curved motifs.
