An Indian Bronze Pata (Gauntlet Sword Hilt), 19th Century. The bronze hilt formed in the characteristic elongated gauntlet shape, tapering towards a flared terminal, the surface richly decorated throughout with dense punched and incised geometric and floral motifs. The wrist guard is bordered with a beaded edge, leading to a stylised mask-form terminal at the front, featuring pronounced eyes, arched brows, and a defined mouth. L: Approximately 34cm
