An Indian Bronze Shiva Lingam with Naga Canopy, 19th Century. The bronze cast in the form of a Shiva lingam rising from a circular yoni base with a projecting spout, the front surmounted by a finely modelled head of Shiva with serene facial expression. Above, a multi-headed naga forms a protective canopy, its hood fanning out with individually detailed serpent heads. The lingam set upon a stepped square base decorated with engraved bands and geometric motifs. H: Approximately 16.5cm
