Of traditional form, the iron features a broad, gently curved base surmounted by a metal body clad with a white metal panel worked in relief with scrolling foliate motifs. The centre is set with a circular red stone within a raised mount, surrounded by further chased decoration. The lower register shows additional decorative elements in relief.
