Truly South African Tribal Find Art Prints (3) Signed and Numbered by Recognised Artist
Three (3) signed & numbered prints by Barbara Tyrrell, original fine art print on art card, measuring 26cm x 40cm, in frames 40cm x 55cmin good condition. Born in Kwa-Zulu Natal March 15th 1912 and died at Fishhoek in the Cape at the age of 103, on September 23rd, 2015. Her paintings in water colour, gouache and oils are internationally recognized for her detailed costume studies of traditional dress of the tribal peoples in Southern Africa. Her father occupied the post of assistant magistrate and later interpreter in the Department of Native Affairs in Zululand. Her grandfather was Frederick Fynney, interpreter and companion to the Zulu King Cetshwayo (1826 1884)
