”Buddhist monk in prayer – Burma/Thailand late 19th century Red lacquered and gilded wood sculpture - ”Buddhist monk in prayer – Burma/Thailand late 19th century Red lacquered and gilded wood sculpture depicting a kneeling monk in an attitude of devotion his hands joined in anjali mudra. The monastic robe is finely decorated with incised motifs and inlaid with colored glass beads (red and green) on the edges. Old patina visible wear to the gilding structural losses and cracks (notably on the arms and base) testifying to the age of the piece. Dimensions: H. 31 cm W. 27 cm.”
