Poland - An envelope that was sent on October 22, 1936 from KATOWICE, Poland, to the Anglo-Palestine Bank in Tel Aviv, Palestine, via airmail on the first special flight from Poland to Israel. It arrived and was stamped in Israel on October 30, 1936 Envelope details (front side): Registered envelope, with a purple rectangular stamp ”KATOWICE 1”, with the registration number 95. Large red ink seal at the top right of the Polish Post Office, ”POCZTA POLSKA”, with a value of 100 groszy (GR 100), including the Polish eagle emblem. On the top side appears a round seal in red ”KATOWICE FA-032” with the date 22.10.36. Round seal with a drawing of an airplane and the inscription in Hebrew: ”First flight - Poland - Israel, 27 - x 1936”. Another brown seal in Polish with a picture of an airplane and the inscription ”PRZEWIEZIONO SAMOLOTEM” (Transferred by airplane). A faded seal of the sending bank appears on the upper left Envelope details (reverse side): The sender's seal is printed in black with a bilingual inscription (German and Polish): ”Deutsche Bank und Disconto-Gesellschaft Oddzial w Katowicach KATOWICE I (Polska) Skrytka pocztowa 472”.
