A variety of Iranian stamps of various denominations (3R, 1R, 50D) are affixed to the front of the envelope. The stamps are printed in Persian with the inscription ”Iran”, and feature a portrait of an Iranian ruler from the period. The stamps are stamped with official postmarks, a large rectangular Arabic censorship or audit stamp (”الرقابة العراقية” - Iraqi Supervision), with the English inscription ”NOT EXAMINED”. On the right side of the front there is a vertical red printed stripe with the inscription ”OPENED BY”, indicating that despite the ”NOT EXAMINED” seal, the envelope was probably opened and examined in some way. Reverse side: The reverse side of the envelope is completely covered with additional Iranian stamps of higher denominations. These stamps are stamped with numerous black, round, official Tehran Postal Service ink seals.
