VAM-2E2: Wing Break Error – A crack or break in the eagle’s left wing. This is a thin raised line running along the top of the eagle’s left wing, resulting from a die crack. Gouge – A deep groove (gouche) found on the surface. This is a rough cut that was not included in the original design and is caused by physical damage to the die itself. It looks like a “deep scratch” that has been preserved in all subsequent mintings.
