A large and impressive double-sided kinetic sculptural medal designed by artist Frank Meisler, issued in 1998 to commemorate two major events - the 50th anniversary of the State of Israel and the 75th anniversary of Mizrahi Bank - and incorporating a rotating 3D Star of David mechanism in its center - A large and impressive double-sided kinetic sculptural medal designed by artist Frank Meisler, issued in 1998 to commemorate two major events - the 50th anniversary of the State of Israel and the 75th anniversary of Mizrahi Bank - and incorporating a rotating 3D Star of David mechanism in its center Details: On one side, the medal is dedicated to the jubilee celebrations of the State of Israel, and on the surface of the flag in relief, the golden numerals 50 appear, with a rotating 3D kinetic Star of David embedded within the numeral zero; around the flag, the inscriptions “Fifty” appear in various languages, and below the relief, Frank Meisler’s signature appears in Hebrew. The design combines state symbols, physical movement, and partially gilded metallic materiality, creating a dynamic sculptural effect. On the other side, the medal is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the founding of Mizrahi Bank (1923–1998), with the numeral 75 in gold and an additional rotating 3D Star of David integrated within the numeral 5; the background is decorated with inscriptions and slogans of the bank, in a dense graphic design typical of Meisler's works from the 1990s. The medal also serves as a kinetic tabletop figurine, made of partially gilded metal, removable from a base made of black VERDE GUATEMALA marble, and signed by the artist. Frank Meisler was an Israeli artist, architect, sculptor, and goldsmith with an international reputation in the field of Judaica and kinetic sculpture.
