The item is made of silver-plated metal, with a wide conical body, flared upper rim and two side ring handles, in the style of European serving wares from the first half of the 20th century, weight 840 grams - excellent condition Weight: 840 grams. The piece is designed with particularly rich metalwork, with sides divided into vertical bands featuring different textures, some with a fine wave pattern and others with a dense hammered / engraved texture. The front features a large central ornament in a Neoclassical / Art Deco style, consisting of a round medallion within a geometric frame. The combination of the conical body, ring handles, geometric decoration and richly decorated front is highly characteristic of German design from the 1920s, with Art Deco and Neoclassical influences. Two marks appear on the underside: a rectangular maker’s mark, identified with H.A. Jürst & Co, with the word JÜRST stamped inside a recessed rectangular frame with a notched upper section above the letters U and R. The shield emblem: a shield containing an eagle with spread wings, the Prussian / German eagle, and beneath it the initials J & C, representing the partners or managers of the company during that period. The renowned German metalware and silverware manufacturer H.A. Jürst & Co, also known as Berliner Metallwarenfabrik H.A. Jürst & Co, operated in Berlin, Germany, and was active mainly in the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The company was known primarily for producing serving wares, cutlery and high-quality decorative items made of base white metal with fine silver plating. General condition: Very good.
