Lebanon - Lot of 2 early banknotes - 10 Piastres and 5 Piastres of République Libanaise, dated February 15, 1944 - Lebanon - Lot of 2 early banknotes - 10 Piastres and 5 Piastres of République Libanaise, dated February 15, 1944 10 Piastres banknote - Dimensions: 115 x 69 mm 5 Piastres banknote - Dimensions: 95 x 57 mm Description: The first note is denominated 10 Piastres, with the inscription République Libanaise, the denomination 10 Piastres on both sides, and an illustration of a castle / coastal view with boats in the center. The back features Arabic inscription, the denomination 10 Piastres on both sides, decorative ornaments, and the signatures of the Minister of Finance and the Director of Finance. The second note is denominated 5 Piastres, with the inscription République Libanaise, the denomination 5 Piastres, decorative ornaments, and an illustration of fruits / vegetation on the sides of the design. The back features Arabic inscription, the denomination 5 Piastres and signatures. The banknotes belong to the early issues of the Lebanese Republic, from the transitional period following the French Mandate. Condition: F Condition as shown in the photos.
