Greece - 5,000 Drachmai banknote of the Bank of Greece, dated September 1, 1932 - First Issue - Greece - 5,000 Drachmai banknote of the Bank of Greece, dated September 1, 1932 - First Issue Dimensions: 203 x 101 mm Description: Large Greek banknote denominated 5,000 Drachmai, issued by the Bank of Greece / Τράπεζα της Ελλάδος, dated September 1, 1932. The front features a portrait of the goddess Athena / Pallas Athena wearing a helmet in the center, the denomination 5000 on both sides, classical columns on the sides of the design, red serial number, Greek inscriptions and signatures of the officials. The back features a central ornament with a griffin / mythological creature between columns, the denomination 5000 on both sides, a colorful decorative frame and the inscription Τράπεζα της Ελλάδος. The banknote is part of the first issues of the Bank of Greece, printed in 1932 in the United States by the American Bank Note Company. The 500 and 5,000 Drachmai banknotes from this series entered circulation in 1933. Condition: VF/XF Condition as shown in the photos
